what? thats silly, how can the environment be racist?
Ooh you mean the placement of environmentally hazardous facilities in minority communities. I had to turn to the internet to find out what environmental racism was, which was hard because the internet is not for learning. Even if there IS a conspiracy where the government is using every sleazy method they can to kill off black people, black people should just ignore it. And stop claiming everything is racism, because everyone is a little bit racist. If the people of Camden, (somewhere in america(i guess)) hadn't cried racism then they may have won their lawsuit. It is very easy for them to prove that those facilities are harmful to their community but it is next to impossible to prove that they are there solely to kill black people. black people cant claim that they are targeted when all their evidence points to all poor and politically powerless people are being targeted by environmental racism. Black people just happen to suck and live in poor neighborhoods. What i'm trying to say is that it sucks to be everyone (especially Gary Coleman r.i.p.). Too bad they cant all go live in Canada, like my girlfriend, where nobody has problems. I digress, the people aren't suffering because they are black but because they have no political power, which is tragically a staple for black communities, and none with political power wants the facilities in their neighborhood. In other words these industries can be as loud as they want when they are screwing poor folks. I guess i'm suppose to come up with some conclusion and what not so I will leave with this last sentence. Avenue Q and Katty Perry are Awesome!

"ASSESSING ONES SELF" sounds so gross, doesn't it?
I basically have no readers so I guess I am allowed to say just about anything here. My previous posts were exceptionally tame and from now on that will change. Since this change might bring about new readers who wont take the time to review my work, I will assess it here and now afterward you all will know exactly why it sucks and isn't worth your time. Due to no fault of my own all of my post are about Obama because while drifting in and out of focus in this class the only topic I hear them discuss is Obama and blackness or whatever. The only reason I write this blog and risk being committed, is because my English class requires it which limits my themes to oddly enough African american issues. Over time the posts gradually got lazier which of course could be attributed to my own growing laziness. A tad bit of honesty has sneaked into my latest posts. While re-reading my posts I was actually surprised because I don't remember writing any of them. (not that I cheated, I just have a bad memory) If you like torture and take it upon yourself to read all of my posts then you too will notice that none of them are worth revisiting, sadly that will be the last thing you notice as your eyes bleed leading to permanent blindness. (unfortunately for you every word of the posts are now burn into your psyche and will haunt you forever) On the bright side blogging every week helps me remember what day it is (not really) and I have given up on my dream of becoming a famous author like Karrine Steffans. (and I mean exactly like her) Mostly I value the humor buried in all of these posts. (however morbid it may be)
Though it may not be apparent by reading my posts, English is a subject in which I excel. My talents lie in playing the devil's advocated, so I write exceptionally well when portraying to offensive, obnoxious, and vulgar writer or whatever view directly opposes commonly accepted ideals.(there is no proof of this) This of course is all in good humor and I mean no offense whatsoever. However arrogant it may be I have taken this as an excuse to daydream about shota, traps, or lolis during class. My point is to answer the teachers question, no offense, but I feel I have learned nothing about the concepts that we covered this semester. To be honest I also find it laughable that one of the questions asks if we consider a "global perspective" while writing when all our topics are about black issues, which is obviously an attempt to help us relate to the topics but only serve to perpetuate stereotypes due to the stereotype threat effect.

The Six Degrees of Barrack Obama
Being the one track minded gamer that I am I have decided to cleverly mix my current event blog with my English class topic using a game called "the six degrees of Kevin bacon". To all of you who do not know this game, the object is to connect two actors together using their movie roles in under six turns. I am going to change the rules a bit by connecting Halo: Reach and Barrack Obama, since Reach just came out and we are talking about Obama in class. here it goes, 1 Obama has issued the STEM challenge, 2 Microsoft is a sponsor of the STEM challenge, 3 Microsoft owns the halo intellectual properties. simple right. the STEM challenge is a attempt to educate children to become better leaders using video games because we all know kids care more about games than they do about school. The sad part is that wasn't even sarcasm, even crazy smart Asian kids love games more than school. China has gone loco over starcraft two. I digress, the challenge is for game developers, big time and independent alike. The program is aimed towards middle school students and the winner will receive money, fame, and a boring leadership seminar. Other than a few quotes of his on the official site, i'm not sure of Obama's involvement, previously he has referred to games as a health problem. Maybe his opinion of video games haven't changed and he sees this as an opportunity to make the problem a part of the solution. Of course Halo: Reach has nothing to do with this, I'm just so glad that its finally out and so sad that it's Bungie's last halo. I eagerly look forward to Bungie's next project.

Who Likes Obama and Killing Babies? THIS GUY!
Before and during much of the 2008 election I had no clue who Barrack Obama was, but when I found out he was a promising black presidential candidate I quickly realized that I didn't care. Had I paid more attention to his campaign I would have known that he supports stem cell research and planned to expand the field, a goal that he has certainly reached. The Bush administration " limited the research to 21 cell lines already in existence" but under Obama's administration the National Institutes of Health can "provide $78 million to 44 scientists." I should probably mention that the embryos are donated from fertility clinic patients who no longer have any use for the embryo they had created, these embryo are destroyed in the process of obtaining stem cells .Last month a ban on federal spending was passed that would suspend all stem cell research leaving countless highly advanced specimen, in need of constant care, to parish. There is no need to worry though because recently an appeal was passed that allows for the continuation of funding while the ban is being reviewed.Obama's administration claims that this "could save research mice from being euthanized, cells in petri dishes from starving and scores of scientists from a suspension of paychecks." Stem cells may be a science that saves countless lives, but the sound the destruction of several day old embryos rings sweetly in my ears. In my honest opinion a man willing to pay for the murder of unwanted babies is truly a man fit to be America's president.

response a more perfect union
the biggest hindrance to improved race relations involving African Americans is black pride. there is a significant difference between love of one's culture and pride. pride was necessary for African Americans in the past to help them overcome the notion that they were an inferior race.today, that pride is no longer needed because African american children are raised to believe that all man are created equal. this pride only serves to bring back the pain of our ancestors and put us in a position to expect more be given to us for our forefather's suffering. our forefather's wanted equality, the right to vote, the right to get an education, the right own property that they could pass on to their children. loving one's culture means to understand and respect the past, not live in it. we as African Americans should honor their wishes and vote for not just america's leader but also in community elections. we should thirst for knowledge not suffer through it. we should preserve big mama's house which holds our childhood memories and let it be the stage for future memories of generations after us.we fought the good fight and won, let us now enjoy the spoils of victory.
